Orchestrator — MySQL & PostgreSQL High Availability, Simplified

Automated failover, topology management, and ProxySQL integration for MySQL and PostgreSQL. Maintained by ProxySQL.

Why Orchestrator?

Everything you need to manage MySQL and PostgreSQL replication at scale.

Automated Failover

Detect master failures and promote the best replica automatically. GTID-based failover ensures data consistency with minimal downtime.

ProxySQL Integration

Native hooks for ProxySQL keep your proxy configuration in sync with topology changes. Seamless traffic routing during failover.

Observability

Built-in Prometheus metrics endpoint and Kubernetes-ready health checks. Monitor replication lag, discovery status, and recovery events.

Modern API

Structured JSON API with consistent error handling. Manage your entire MySQL topology programmatically.

Trusted Lineage

Orchestrator was originally created at Outbrain, open-sourced on GitHub, and maintained by Shlomi Noach under the openark organization. It was then adopted and extended by Percona for use in their Kubernetes Operators.

Today, ProxySQL maintains and evolves orchestrator with a focus on modern MySQL deployments: ProxySQL integration, Prometheus observability, API modernization, and database provider abstraction.
